Downtown Oakland gun battle leaves multiple cars with bullet holes Monday (BCN) -- A gunfight in downtown Oakland between people in two vehicles left several cars in the area with bullet holes Monday afternoon but no injuries were initially reported, according to Oakland police officials. The shooting started near Ninth Street and Broadway at about 12:15 p.m., just two blocks from the Oakland Police Department headquarters. San Jose suspects with nearly $1M in illegal drugs and guns arrested The suspects fled the scene prior to the officers' arrival, police officials said. Judge says he plans to sentence gynecologist who sexually abused patients to 20 years in prison NEW YORK (AP) — A federal judge said Monday he plans to sentence a former gynecologist to 20 years in prison for the sexual abuse of dozens of patients for over two decades at prestigious New York hospitals.Judge Richard M. Berman announced his intention at a sentencing hearing for Robert Hadden that will continue on Tuesday, when Hadden is expected to speak after some legal issues are resolved. The judge was expected to impose the sentence after the hearing resumes, unless he changes his mind.Hadden, 64, has been in custody since his January conviction on four counts of enticing victims to cross state lines so he could sexually abuse them. A 20-year senctence would be four times the roughly four-to-five-year term that the judge concluded federal sentencing guidelines recommend. Troopers enhance patrols targeting impaired, careless drivers DENVER (KDVR) – More intense patrol efforts are beginning after two separate suspected impaired drivers crashed into troopers' patrol cars while a crash was being investigated on a bridge over the weekend. A video of one of the crashes was released by Colorado State Patrol on Monday. It shows troopers working a crash around 4 a.m. on Interstate 270 in Adams County.One of the unoccupied patrol cars was hit in a second crash.
